What Do Vampires Even Wear?
When you can't look yourself in the mirror getting dressed can become a bit of a diffucult task, but have you ever seen a poorly dressed vampire?
Not a chance. We all look stunning 24/7. Next time you see a vampire, congratulate them on looking so flawless without the help of a mirror.
Now, there really are no rules to how vampires dress or what they look like, but many traditional vampires fall into a few categories of style.
Refined Terror

In this image, Dracula can be seen showing off his fabulous cape. This gothic-inspired style relies heavily on dark colours and materials like velvet and silk. No refined terror look is complete without a cape or cloak to really make your outfit scream "I'm better than everyone, give me your blood."
Subtle Corvid

In this picture, two vampires are representing the subtle corvid style. Ignore the human in the tuxedo to the far right. Nadja and Laszlo are sporting a more understated gothic look. Dark colours and old fashioned articles of clothing without all the bells and whistles.
Y2K Hell

Because mainstream early 2000's fashion didn't need to be more diabolical. The Cullen family here is sporting perfect exaples of Y2K hell. Basically, whatever a quiet, dark, background character in an early 2000's movie would wear is perfect Y2K hell. They're not quite gothy, they just wear dark colours and sometimes semi-formal clothes. Are you sensing a theme here?
- Fake fangs. Now I know what you're thinking, what does a vampire need fake fangs for? Not all vampires come equipped with great pearly-whites. Some types of vampires aren't born with them, and some vampires lose them in fights or to poor dental hygiene. Brush your teeth, kids. The good news is, if you don't have your own you can buy them. You can find good quality ones online if you search for a fangsmith.
- Sunglasses. A must have for any vampires who for reasons of stealth or personal preference move around in the daylight hours. Sunglasses are not just fashionable, they are a form of protection people. Vampire eyes are extremely sensitive to sunlight. In order to protect your eyesight, sunglasses are vital.
- Head-coverings. These are also great for protection. Whether they're wide-brim hats, headscarves, bonnets, big hairstyles, so long as they protect your skin from the sunlight they are very important. They can also be used to cover pointy ears should you have them.
- Nail polish. Whether accentuating claws or adding a splash of colour, nail polish looks great on any vampire.
- Pins and patches. Depending on the type they fit into all of these. Metal pins are fun and functional when pinning up cloaks and capes. Just ensure they aren't silver before you touch them. Enamel pins and fabric patches work really well with the Y2K Hell aesthetic. What's more vampire than looking punk? Looking old? Looking COOL AS HELL???
